Meanwhile, Ganesh fixes Tamizh's marriage with Swetha's brother Arjun who came as his customer and was attracted to Tamizh. However, Swetha falls for Ganesh after she realises her mistake. Due to this Shwetha and Laxmidas teams up to take revenge on Ganesh. But Laxmidas also gets embarrassed by Ganesh when he tells his wife Laxmi and his mother-in-law about his true face. One day, Swetha tries to kill Ganesh but Laxmidas saves him.
Subsequent events, where Swetha poses Ganesh as a fake mute eyewitness to a case leads to her firing when Ganesh messes up by talking in front of everyone. The film began production under the working title Thala 56, before the title Vedalam was announced officially in September 2015.
